June 15, 2004 Solar Seal announces the purchase of a new tempering furnaceSolar Seal announced today in conjunction with their announcement for a planned building addition that they have already purchased a new tempering furnace. The Tamglass™ Convection Tempering System will allow Solar Seal to increase capacity, decrease cycle times, and temper glass with better quality than ever before. The tempering furnace which is expected to be delivered during the month of September, will temper glass ranging in thickness from 1/8" to 3/4" thick (3mm-19mm) and sheet sizes as large as 96" x 180". Thanks to the benefits of convection, this furnace is specifically designed to handle the sputter (soft) coat low-e products like Solar Ban 60 for which Solar Seal is a PPG Certified Fabricator. Cycle times and costs will be reduced while simultaneously minimizing roll distortion and other nuisances inherent to the tempering process. |
