Handling
It is very important that glass is handled properly after its receipt from Solar Seal or any
other manufacturer. Solar Seal makes every attempt to get your product to you quickly and in
undamaged condition. Solar Seal will not be held responsible for damage occurring after glass has
been received at the jobsite or in a shop. Solar Seal has issued and recommends adhering to the
following guidelines:
Glass received in crates should be unpacked immediately. Glass stored in unventilated crates
for extended periods can incur surface damage. Glass should be stored indoors, protected from
exposure to rain, standing water, direct sunlight and other adverse weather conditions.
Individual lites should be stacked on edge using clean cushioned padded blocks placed along the
bottom edges of the glass. Cork or rubber separators should also be used between lites of glass to
limit scuffing and scratching. Glass should be stacked against a sturdy support, resting at an
angle of approximately seven degrees.
A dry, interleaving material should be used and edges should be protected from impact. Glass
should never be rotated on the corners. A properly designed roll block should be used to avoid
corner and edge damage.
