Glass has a finite probability of breakage, but its strength can not be exactly predicted. It is important to consider both the probability and the consequences of breakage coupled with industry standards and recommendations. There are many reasons why glass can fail and all such possibilities should be taken into consideration during the design phase of any project. Some of the potential reasons for failure and/or breakage include but are not limited to: thermal stress, long and short term loads, mechanical stress, object impact, spontaneous or delayed breakage, static fatigue, stones (including nickel sulfide), and vandalism.

Much of the related information can be found on Solar Seal's website or its suppliers' websites. We would also be happy to discuss your project needs with you in order to determine what materials should be used.
