There should also be a minimum clearance of two inches between the shading device and the glass. Cooling and heating outlets must be on the room side of the shading mechanism as opposed to the window side of a room.

Vertical blinds are recommended over horizontal blinds. Dark blinds are recommended over light blinds. Open textured draperies are recommended in place of solid materials.

To prevent blinds from closing completely, a closure stop is recommended on both vertical and horizontal blinds. Ventilation is recommended across the horizontal head. A natural air vent will give the best results.

Heat strengthening and/or tempering of the glass is the best prevention when necessary against thermal stress breakage.
